About the company:
A leading mining client with global operations that has been established for over a century.
The Role:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Mining Systems Application Specialist to provide dedicated support for fleet management applications, Power BI development, and OT software application suites at our mine site. This role will ensure the functionality and capability of operational technology (OT) applications related to mining and processing technology. You will be responsible for supporting mine site personnel, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards, and optimizing production-critical systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and troubleshoot fleet management applications (e.g., CAT MineStar), performing incident response, triage, and escalation.
- Coordinate production support, maintenance, and updates for OT applications and database systems.
- Perform impact assessments during system incidents, upgrades, and maintenance activities.
- Collaborate with vendors, technology partners, and stakeholders to implement approved application enhancements.
- Maintain system monitoring tools, ensure data integrity across APIs, and collaborate with the Data & Analytics team to provide reporting solutions.
- Provide real-time support and escalation for production application systems, ensuring reliable services for the site.
- Drive change management and oversee technical vendor relationships.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Tertiary degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field with relevant experience.
- Experience working with production-critical systems in the mining or resources industry.
- Expertise with MS SQL Server, Power BI, CAT MineStar, and CAT Fleet Manager is highly desirable.
- Strong technical skills in networking, communications, and IT operations.
- Experience in data analysis, dashboard systems, programming languages, and Windows/Unix operating systems
- Ability to work in a mixed onshore/offshore team and deliver complex projects effectively.
