Our Federal Government Client seeking an EL1 Software Developer and will be responsible in designing and developing custom workflows using SAS and/or Python programming.
This is a contract role that will run for 12 months with 12 months extension options based in Canberra and/or in their other sites such as Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Adelaide.
Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
Software Development:
Design and develop custom workflows using SAS and/or Python programming. Explore potential integration of Python code for SAS workflows for specific tasks where Python offers advantages. Test and debug SAS code, ensuring accuracy and efficiency of workflows. Write and optimize SAS programs, macros, and scripts to meet business requirements. Develop and maintain complex data manipulation and statistical analysis code
Data Analysis and Reporting:
Utilise SAS procedures for data analysis, visualisations and reporting as needed.
Develop and maintain SAS reports, dashboards, and visualizations.
Collaborate with business units to define analytical requirements and deliver actionable insights.
Collaboration and Support:
Work closely with data analysts, data scientists, and other stakeholders to understand their requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
Provide technical support and guidance to team members and end-users.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to SAS applications and data processing
Documentation and Best Practices:
Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of all created workflows.
Develop and adhere to coding standards and best practices.
Stay up to date with the latest developments in SAS software and data analytics techniques.
Here are the criteria
Essential
1. 2+ years of experience with SAS Viya platform, products, architecture, supporting technologies and implementation best practices.
2. Ability to associate business requirements to technical concepts and capabilities that pertains to SAS System applications and end-user needs.
3. Specialized in front-end programming frameworks such as Angular or ReactJS.
4. Good knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases, scripting languages, open-source programming, REST APIs and cloud computing technologies.
Desirable
1. Technical Expertise: Ability to understand, synthesize, utilize and integrate prevailing external SAS supported technologies with SAS solutions. Fundamental understanding of SAS Visual Investigator, architecture and implementation best practices. Proficiency in data manipulation, statistical analysis, and data visualization using SAS Strong understanding of database management and data warehousing concepts and principles (ETL). Familiarity with Python for data engineering tasks is a PLUS
2. Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent analytical skills with the ability to solve complex problems using SAS. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data analysis and reporting. Ability to develop innovative solutions to meet business requirements.
3. Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
4. Professional Experience and Education: A degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field. Relevant certifications in SAS programming and data analytics are highly desirable. Demonstrated experience in a similar role at the EL1 level or equivalent.
Due to security clearance requirements for this role, candidates must be Australian citizens who has the ability to obtain an AGSVA Baseline Security Clearance.
