About the Role:
The Lead Engineering Architect plays a pivotal role within the Engineering division of the Enterprise Professional Services. This team leads the delivery of advanced ICT solutions for Government, Enterprise, and Strategic clients, seamlessly integrating them into customer environments.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Partner with the pre-sales and delivery teams to provide architectural leadership, governance, and quality assurance, ensuring service and operational enhancements meet evolving technical requirements.
  • Serve as the design authority, maintaining contract compliance and ensuring the sustainability of in-service systems and capabilities.
  • Establish and maintain infrastructure reference models, guidelines, and principles in alignment with the Customer’s Enterprise Architecture Framework.
  • Lead the creation, communication, and ongoing management of technology architectures, strategic roadmaps, policies, and standards.
  • Ensure comprehensive technical governance across all project phases—solution design, delivery, and BAU support—by engaging or managing technical subject matter experts.
  • Collaborate with Service Owners, the Transformation Director, and Service Architects to meet all commercial and contractual obligations for both new and existing services.
  • Manage client relationships at all technical levels, ensuring seamless engagement and delivering successful outcomes.
Skills and Experience:
  • Detailed understanding of the following technology areas:
    • Security
    • Networks (Routing, Switching, WAN Acceleration, WLAN, mobile signalling)
    • Telephony, including IP Telephony and Contact Centre
    • Unified Communications
    • Desktop Services
    • Office Servers
    • Enterprise Servers
    • Applications.
    • Hosting
  • Extensive experience in Managed Services (including maintaining large corporate networks).
  • Sound working knowledge of the market, third parties and experience in an outsourcing environment.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to question current processes and status quo and devise improvements.
    • Ability to work within quality and design methodologies, processes and controls.
