Responsibilities
Requirement for an experienced Senior Desktop Engineer
The Services, include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Building, installing, configuring, testing and maintaining desktop SOE;
- Deploying DOE to desktop devices using automation to further standardise infrastructure and environments;
- Troubleshooting technical issues and conducting regular maintenance and updates on SOE software to ensure optimal performance;
- Manage the review, testing and selection of desktop devices and software.
- Provide technical support to end-users on desktop-related matters;
- Work effectively in a small team environment;
- Provide knowledge/skills transfer to other team members; and
- Record and maintain files/information in accordance with requirements.
The Engineer MUST have:
- Knowledge and experience in Windows and Linux desktop operating systems, particular Linux, as well as automation tools such as Ansible
- Knowledge and experience in configuring and supporting a secure desktop SOE
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent industry qualifications
- Minimum 5 years in a similar role
- High level communication skills, both written and verbal
- Must be a team player and be able to work collaboratively
