Our Federal Government Client is seeking a Database Engineer - PostgreSQL.
This is a long-term contract role with an initial contract duration of 6 months, located at our client's office in Canberra with hybrid working arrangements.
As the selected candidate, you will:
- Design, deploy, and maintain PostgreSQL deployments through Ansible CI/CD pipelines on RHEL OpenShift and VMware environments.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code (IaC) for PostgreSQL deployments.
- Monitor database health, performance, and security and implement necessary enhancements.
- Implement backup and disaster recovery strategies for PostgreSQL databases.
- Manage database software installations and upgrades to maintain currency with supported environments.
- Develop team capabilities and documentation.
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- 5+ years of PostgreSQL Database Administration experience.
- 5+ years of experience with RHEL on OpenShift VMware technologies.
- 3+ years experience developing and maintaining Infrastructure-as-Code.
- 2 years experience in designing, deploying, and maintaining PostgreSQL deployments through Ansible CI/CD pipelines on RHEL OpenShift and VMware environments.
- Experience in optimizing PostgreSQL database integration and performance.
- Experience in PostgreSQL database security.
It is desirable if you have:
- Knowledge of ArgoCD deployments and integration with GitLab.
- Knowledge of the PostgreSQL GitLab code base (Python).
- Experience in Python programming, Helm charts & Ansible scripting.
- Familiarity with the latest PostgreSQL versions and new features, including security, TLS, x509 certificates, LDAP authentication setup, etc.
