About the role

This is a 6 month contract role with potential extensions with a major & Iconic Australian organisation. It is based in Burnley/Richmond with 3 days working in the office.


This is a hands-on technical role that is accountable for designing, delivering, and running Database Services for the company's public cloud providers including the provision and management of the specific technical service.

You will carry out maintenance, monitoring, and support for infrastructure to ensure the stable operations of the organisations Database Services environment.


Responsibilities

  • Manage and evolve Cloud Database Services, ensuring stability and alignment with the technology roadmap.
  • Design and implement detailed solutions that meet business needs and follow high-level architecture.
  • Support database integration and optimization for Star Track and other subsidiaries.
  • Plan and execute database upgrades and patches with minimal business disruption.
  • Oversee database disaster recovery planning and adherence to security standards.
  • Monitor and optimize service management metrics (e.g., incidents, changes).

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Demonstrated experience in Database related technologies in both on-premises and Cloud environments.
  • Proven operational experience in:
    • AWS, GCP, or Azure PostgresSQL
    • AWS, GCP, or Azure MySQL
  • Operational experience in EITHER
    • Microsoft or Azure SQL

OR

  • Oracle RAC aware or Exadata databases
  • Knowledge and experience with technology-specific coding language for automation, e.g. PowerShell, Terraform or Ansible
  • ITIL certified with an understanding of Agile.
