Our Federal Government Client is seeking a Software Engineer.

This is a long-term contract role with an initial contract duration of 6 months, with the possibility of two 6-month extensions, located at our client's offices in ACT, NSW, QLD, SA, VIC, with hybrid, flexible working arrangements.

As the selected candidate, you will:

* Provide scope and sizing of work for inclusion in Sprint cycles.

* Design and develop solutions to operational problems and issues.

* Manage and resolve defects as part of the standard development process.

* Manage and own assigned tickets through to completion.

* Develop technical documentation to capture solution design and configuration.

* Work flexibly as part of a team and independently, across a range of projects and business as usual activities at the same time and across geographic areas.

To be successful in this role you should have:

* An in-depth knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS) including EC2, Lambda, S3, and Cognito, with experience in setup and configuration.

* Proficiency in AWS Serverless stack using Lambda, API Gateway, and Edge Services such as Cloudfront and Lamda@Edge.

* Knowledge of multiple programming languages such as Javascript, Typescript, and Node JS.

* Understanding of popular frameworks like Vue JS or React for developing modern applications.

* Familiarity with automated deployment and management tools such as CloudFormation, AWS CDK, and SDK.

* Experience setting up continuous integration pipelines, managing Github actions, and handling code versioning strategies like Git.

* Understanding of cloud security strategies and techniques, with hands-on experience in authentication, authorization, encryption, and access control.

* Experience in database management and design, particularly with DynamoDB and RDS.

* Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose cloud platform issues.

* Strong communication skills for documenting API usage, schemas, security policies, and collaborating with stakeholders.

* Experience in website design with a focus on user experience (UX).

* A customer-focused approach to ensure applications meet user needs.

* Experience with Agile Project Methodology using Atlassian Service Suite.

* Tertiary qualifications in software engineering or related fields.

It is desirable if you have:

* Experience with website design, particularly focusing on user experience (UX).

Due to security clearance requirements for this role, candidates must be Australian citizens and be able to obtain Negative Vetting Level 1 security clearance.
