Our Federal Government Client is seeking an Assistant Director Procurement

This is a long-term contract role for an initial period of 12 months with 2 x 12-month extension options, located at our client's ACT office, with potential flexible work-from-home arrangements.

As the selected candidate, you will:

* Supervise a small team of procurement professionals responsible for compliance and delivery of high-quality results.

* Provide procurement guidance and advice to line areas on complex procurement, contract management, and probity matters in accordance with Government legislation and policy.

* Track, prioritize, and allocate procurement reviews within the Corporate Procurement Team to ensure critical deadlines are met.

* Triage contract management and procurement matters that require escalation for legal advice and/or opinion.

* Manage the development and continuous improvement of client's procurement policies and processes in consultation with key stakeholders.

* Identify, develop, and manage procurement and contract management training for client's staff.

* Develop and maintain key relationships with internal teams, business stakeholders, and external entities to continue to shape the overall delivery of services.

* Motivate, guide, and develop staff while identifying opportunities to enhance team performance.

* Manage mandatory reporting obligations, including Senate Order, Indigenous Procurement, AusTender, and annual report.

* Assist the Director, Procurement as required.

To be successful in this role you should have:

* Demonstrated experience and a strong understanding of the application of the Commonwealth Government procurement framework, including the Commonwealth Procurement Rules, connected policies, and emerging Whole of Australian Government (WoAG) requirements.

* Demonstrated experience in corporate procurement and/or end-to-end procurement, including reviewing and providing constructive advice on procurement plans, approval minutes, contracts, and evaluation reports.

* The ability to effectively manage a number of competing priorities and strategic directions, including allocating work and ensuring critical deadlines are met.

* The ability to engage and work collaboratively with others, including the ability to communicate, influence, negotiate, and manage change.

* Demonstrated ability to take responsibility for the achievements of both individual and team outcomes, monitor progress, and follow through to deliver quality outcomes.

* Experience leading, mentoring, and developing a team across multiple priorities to achieve results.

It is desirable if you have:

* Experience in Finance One.

* Certificate IV in Government Procurement and Contracts.

* Experience in Government procurement, operating in a corporate procurement unit, and/or experience completing end-to-end procurements.

Due to security clearance requirements for this role, candidates must be Australian citizens with a Baseline Security Level Clearance in process.
