Job Title: EL1 SAS Administrator

Duration: 12 months with possible extension

Location: Locations: ACT - Deakin, NSW - Surry Hills, Qld - Brisbane, SA - Adelaide, VIC - Richmond & Geelong.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled SAS Viya Administrator to join our team. I this role, you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, administration and support of SAS Viya environments. You work closely with investigators, analysts, and other IT professionals to ensure optimal performance and user experience.

Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

  • Administer and maintain the SAS Viya environment, including installation, configuration, and upgrades of SAS software.
  • Configure system settings, data sources, and workflows to optimise performance requirements.
  • Monitor system health and activity logs, identifying and troubleshooting any potential issues
  • Manage Role based access using identity federation (preferably OAuth /OpenID Connect) within SAS Viya platform adhering to security best practices and standards.
  • Oversee the integration of various data sources into the SAS environment.
  • Ensure data quality, consistency, and availability for analytics and reporting purposes.
  • Develop and maintain ETL processes to support data analytics initiatives.
  • Provide technical support to SAS users, addressing and resolving issues promptly.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system and application problems related to the SAS environment.
  • Collaborate with IT and other departments to resolve hardware, software, and network issues affecting the SAS platform.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for SAS administration, including procedures, guidelines, and best practices.
  • Provide training and support to users and team members on SAS tools and functionalities.
  • Conduct workshops and training sessions to enhance the SAS skills of the team and users.

Duties

  • Define project scope, requirements, and acceptance criteria.
  • Responsible for the development of the project schedule and maintenance of the OCIO plan.
  • Responsible for delivery of all technical components of the project solution including system architecture, cyber and security, and other aspects of technology delivery for which OCIO is responsible.
  • Work collaboratively with Business PM to identify risks, issues, escalations, and maintain log.
  • Work closely with the Scrum Master, staying abreast of status of the day-to-day delivery of the core technology solution being developed and tested.
  • Publish Weekly OCIO Status Reports and share with OCIO Portfolio Delivery Director.
  • Manage technology components of the Release Plan.
  • Ensure company technology compliances are in place (such as Cyber assessments, Penetration testing, Scheme actuary).
  • Drive the completion of the Operational Readiness Checklist as the key input for OCIO release readiness.
  • Establish a positive teaming environment.
  • Create a project Confluence page for team collaboration.
  • Be a champion for continuous improvement.
  • Project closure report.

Essential Criteria

  1. 3+ years of experience with implementing, administering SAS environments, especially Viya platform, products, architecture and supporting technologies.
  2. Fundamental understanding of SAS Visual Investigator, architecture and implementation best practices
  3. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  4. Good knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases, scripting languages, REST APIs and cloud computing technologies.
  5. Strong knowledge of Identity and Access Management, Data Security and Backup/Recovery procedures for SAS Viya.
  6. Familiarity with Kubernetes including deployments and services.

Due to security clearance requirements for this role, candidates must be Australian citizens and

ability to obtain have Baseline security clearance.
