We are partnering with one of the world's largest Enterprise Software providers on a long-term contract to support one of their major Federal clients.

As a Network and Cloud Observability Engineer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the robustness of their Federal client's network and cloud environments. Your expertise will drive the implementation and management of observability tools and practices to ensure their infrastructure operates at peak performance.

This role requires a minimum baseline security clearance, ideally NV2.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain observability solutions for network and cloud environments. Utilize tools to monitor performance, availability, and reliability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network and cloud-related incidents. Provide root cause analysis and implement improvements to prevent future issues.
  • Identify and implement performance and cost optimizations for network and cloud systems.
  • Work with cross-functional teams, including DevOps, IT, and security, to integrate and manage observability tools effectively.
  • Configure and maintain observability tools such as PowerBI, Grafana Prometheus. Develop automation scripts to enhance monitoring and alerting.
  • Maintain thorough documentation related to observability practices, incidents, and system configurations. Share knowledge and best practices within the team.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience managing enterprise management and observability tools.
  • Proficiency in managing both Windows and Linux environments.
  • Strong understanding of network infrastructure and protocols, including VLANs, SNMP, firewalls, and standard ports.
  • Demonstrated experience with scripting languages such as Python, Shell, or Perl.
  • Knowledge of containerization technologies.
  • Understanding of cloud technologies and platforms, including AWS, Azure, and GCP.
  • Experience with custom dashboard and report creation using tools such as PowerBI, Grafana, and Prometheus.
