Job Title: Insights Support Engineer
Duration: 12 Months + likely extension
Location: Brisbane CBD
Role and responsibilities:
- Lead and role model customer focus by working together with other areas of the organisation to solve customer issues.
- Work in partnership with your team leader to agreed performance standards and mutual expectations. Give and receive regular feedback to enable performance to be improved and take personal responsibility for optimising your potential within the organisation.
- Research, design and deliver effective and valued data analysis and reporting solutions using a variety of systems and analytical and business intelligence software tools.
- Translate data into actionable insights and informed decision making.
- Work cross-functionally to understand data needs and provide technical insights that drive strategic decisions
- Apply advanced analytics techniques to support organisational decision making while ensuring data accuracy and security.
- Create a positive team environment by working and communicating effectively, including sharing knowledge, information and skills across the team.
- Provide authoritative professional advice and excellent customer service through a positive, prompt, courteous and informed manner, including consulting with process and information owners, and end-users.
- Experience in Azure synapse Pipelines, Azure Data Explorer, Python, Synapse Stored procs, PowerBI
- Strong Analytical skills, including the ability to analyse and interpret information, experience in data modelling and hands on experience with ETL, BI Dashboards & Database management.
- Significant experience delivering analytics and /or business intelligence projects utilizing innovative thinking and the latest technology in data and analytics
- Strong knowledge and practical experience in working with Azure Synapse Pipelines, Synapse (DWH), PowerBI
- Well-developed interpersonal skills including the ability to influence and develop and maintain positive working relationships through a strong customer focus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer science or recent experience working across data or analytics focused roles utilizing a consultative approach to solving business problems
