This is a 2 year engagement, and you MUST have full Australian work rights and be willing and able to live and work in Adelaide, South Australia.
Reporting to the Application Team Leader, as a Senior Mainframe Developer, you will plan, coordinate and deliver expert technical systems analysis, design, development and maintenance functions to ensure the quality of applications. This may include enhancements of existing applications or the development or configuration of complex new systems. This will include working on new projects, as well as BAU activities.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Plan, coordinate and deliver expert data analysis, design and modelling services for complex or business critical applications.
- Ensure the quality of application development and enhancement by Planning, coordinating and conducting specialist development tasks.
- Providing specialist advice in relation to analysis, design and database access, programming, testing, writing of user procedures or other documentation.
- high-level systems analysis, design and programming functions for critical applications.

- Resolve complex and critical incidents and outages including diagnosing issues and coordinating and implementing workarounds that may impact service wide operations.

Skills and Experience required:
- 6+ years of recent and significant experience as a maintenance analyst/programmer working in a current mainframe Natural/Adabas or IDMS / ADSO / COBOL e
- 2nd and 3rd level support for mainframe, backend systems, middleware and web-based presentation layer.
- Experience with multiple relevant programming languages, development tools/environments and methodologies including one or more
of:
- Java/J2EE
- Web service integration (REST/SOAP, WSDL, XML, Canonical Data Models)
- Web design (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Ajax)
- Oracle Fusion Middle Ware Platform – Oracle SOA Suite 12c (BPEL, OSB, OWSM, Mediator, EDN, XPAth, XSLT, X Query and JCA adaptas)
- UML (Unified Modelling Language) / RUP (Rational Unified Process)
- IDMS / ADSO / COBOL
- Eclipse, JDeveloper, SOAP, UI, Maven
- ADABAS / NATURAL
- Extensive SQL and relational database
- Skilled in networks (IP, LAN, WAN), OS (Linux/Windows), clustering, load balancing, logging and auditing, and relational databases such as Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle.
- ITIL service management processes, in regards to delivery of IT application services.
