Role Overview:

We are seeking a Dev-in-Test to join our client, a premium brand and leading wealth management company in Australia. 
Reporting to the QA Lead, as a technical SME working across all QA streams you will have a strong background in software engineering and testing. You will be responsible for designing, creating, maintaining, and enhancing automated testing frameworks, contributing to multiple projects, and providing technical expertise across teams. You will bring a passion for quality assurance and a proven ability to write clean, efficient code to automate and improve testing capability and delivery across the company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain automation frameworks using tools such as Playwright and Cypress is a must have.
  • Create and execute automated tests for web applications, ensuring robust and scalable test coverage.
  • Collaborate with developers and QA teams to integrate automated testing into the CI/CD pipeline.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, acting as a technical lead and floating resource to provide guidance and solutions.
  • Develop and implement best practices for automation testing and contribute to team upskilling.
  • Analyse and debug issues, ensuring effective defect tracking and resolution.
  • Contribute to technical discussions, helping shape the testing strategy and architecture.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • 5+ years of experience in software development and automated testing roles.
  • Proficient in JavaScript and TypeScript, with hands-on experience developing automation frameworks.
  • Experience with tools like Playwright, Cypress, or equivalent testing frameworks.
  • Solid understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
  • Ability to set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated testing.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an eye for detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across multiple teams and functions.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in FinTech or financial services industries.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based environments and modern DevOps practices.
