These are NOT Junior roles and prior, relevant commercial work experience as a Systems Analyst working on large projects is essential.
As a Systems Analyst, you will be translating business needs into ICT system requirements and specifications for enhancements. You may propose modifications to the existing systems and processes, or design new systems to meet User needs as expressed in requirements documentation or user stories. This includes designing, analysing and documenting software systems to meet business expectations. You will also be writing functional specifications from business requirements.
Main Duties will include:
- perform analysis and evaluation of business processes and requirements
- support the creation and implementation of solutions to meet business needs
- support the creation and maintenance of solution documents
- provide support to daily operations and monitor performance of business solutions
- adhere to delivery and support methodologies and contribute ideas for improvement
- perform technical application assessments considering risks and benefits
- conduct testing activities such as test coverage reviews, formal or informal test execution and test planning
- collaborate with stakeholders to resolve issues, solve problems, and ensure effective and timely implementation of projects
- undertake project quality management tasks such as peer and quality reviews of specifications and design documents
- prepare correspondence such as reports and technical documentation for review by senior staff
- escalate issues as required and suggest alternative approaches and solutions
- assist with cost analysis activities as required
- support the life cycle of changes and improvements to systems
- provide training, guidance, and support for new staff where required
Skills and Experience required
- 5+ years of IT Systems Analysis experience, ideally working in a large, complex environment.
- Ability to translate technical information for non-technical audiences
- Can identify and analyse information and make recommendations based on evidence
- Able to think critically and analytically to solve problems
- Can work collaboratively and integrate agile ways of working
- Able to seek, suggest, implement and support others to adopt innovations and improvements
- identify and assess risks and take appropriate action
- manage time and organise work to support team performance expectations
- support change initiatives and encourage others to embrace change
