A reputed organization is seeking an experienced Systems and Platform Engineer to support and maintain its critical IT infrastructure. This role is essential for ensuring system availability, security, and operational efficiency across multiple data centres, GovNext, and Azure environments.
The Role
This position requires expertise in Windows Server, Linux, VMware, Azure IaaS, and security management, with a focus on maintaining infrastructure reliability, addressing vulnerabilities, and supporting disaster recovery initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Support and maintain server infrastructure across multiple data centres and cloud environments.
- Perform vulnerability management and implement security updates.
- Administer Windows Server (2012-2022) and Linux systems(RHEL, Oracle Linux, SUSE).
- Manage virtualized environments using VMware ESX.
- Support Azure IaaS environments for Windows and Linux workloads.
- Implement container-based platforms like Docker.
- Ensure Active Directory and Hybrid Exchange configurations meet security standards.
- Collaborate with Database Administration, Network Administration, Cyber Security, and Infrastructure Architecture teams.
- Respond to system incidents and restore services as needed.
- Maintain disaster readiness and assist in platform upgrades.
- Develop and manage scripts using PowerShell to automate system processes.
- Maintain infrastructure documentation and best practices.
- Strong background in server administration across Windows and Linux platforms.
- Experience in cloud migration and hybrid IT environments.
- Proficiency in VMware, Azure IaaS, and container-based technologies.
- Knowledge of security best practices and compliance frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with Active Directory, Exchange Hybrid, and system automation.
- Strong troubleshooting skills in large-scale IT environments.
