Our client, an Adelaide-based software company with a global reach, is looking for a skilled Security Operations Lead to join their growing team. Specialising in innovative AI-powered software solutions, they have a strong local and US market presence and are now expanding into the UK and European markets.

In this role, you will be a subject matter expert, providing security leadership and advice to the organisation, across multiple locations. You will be responsible for implementing and manage governance risk and compliance programs globally to ensure the compliance, safety and integrity of our products and data. You will lead threat detection and prevention initiatives, manage incident responses, and oversee internal security procedures such as disaster recovery dry runs and intrusion detection.



Key Responsibilities

  • Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC): Oversee and manage GRC programs to ensure compliance with international security standards and regulations. Develop, maintain, and evolve security policies, procedures, and run-books, ensuring alignment with platform growth, emerging threats, new technologies, and market expansion.
  • Threat Detection and Prevention: Implement strategies, tools, and processes to identify and mitigate security threats proactively.
  • Security Monitoring: Establish and maintain observability of system endpoints and intruder detection systems to manage threats effectively.
  • Cross-Team Security Coordination: Facilitate cross-departmental coordination for security activities, including training and development, IT, support, HR, sales, internal systems, and platform operations.
  • Incident Response: Lead and manage responses to security incidents, including conducting forensic analysis and ensuring effective containment, removal, and recovery of threats.

Skills and Qualifications

  • A tertiary degree in IT, business, relevant discipline, or industry experience with similar certifications. i.e. CISSP, CISM, CISA
  • Strong knowledge of security frameworks (e.g., SOC2, NIST, GDPR, ISO27001).
  • Proven experience in cloud security, particularly with AWS or Azure.
  • Hands-on experience with security tools like Rapid7, Nessus, and Splunk.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code tools.
  • Ability to perform threat modeling, risk assessment, and vulnerability testing.
  • Excellent communication skills for cross-departmental security coordination.
