Our Federal Government Client is looking for a Support Officer.

The Support Officer will be required to perform and/or have responsibility for duties including, but not limited to:

  • Manage and support on-premises messaging infrastructure in a multi-forest distributed environment.
  • Integrate complex ICT infrastructure software and applications with messaging systems.
  • Proactively maintain, patch and upgrade distributed enterprise.
  • Develop and build defect remediation.
  • Analyse, log, track, and resolve complex issues pertaining to messaging.
  • Create and peer review Standard Operating Procedure documentation (SOPs), build guides and related artefacts.
  • Maintain and assist trainers with the training suite in order to deliver high quality training for ship staff for Minerva courses.
  • Support level 1, 2 and 3 for all Minerva capable ships as well as DICT partner support.
  • Occasionally work offsite for the purpose of aiding in the training of ship CIS on Client systems.
  • Certificate renewals (both Web Cert SSL and Ping Fed) and patching and change management.
  • Work on call as part of a team with two phones always monitored.
  • Manage incident priorities in order ensure SLA's are not breached.
  • Self-train and upskill with regards to Minerva specific applications in order to ensure support team continues to deliver high quality support to Navy.
  • Update and create knowledge articles to assist ship staff with level 1 day to day troubleshooting.

Mandatory Skills and Experience:

  • Highly developed knowledge of:
  • o Exchange and AD administration
    • Message Transfer Agents o Microsoft Skype administration
    • Carry phone, be on an on-call roster
    • Experience with XMPP chat tools
    • Expertise with Lotus Domino products
    • Experience with VoIP trunking
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • Familiarity with Nutanix, Fortinet family of software, Cisco networking, HYKU, Citrix, Microsoft products, Titus, Liquidware, Ivanti, Red Hat, Tanium, Netbox, Carbon Black, ICINGA system monitoring, and Prometheus.
  • Previous Minerva experience is desirable.
  • Experience with ADF CIS reporting processes and procedures

This role is on a contract to 30 June 2025 extension options and starts as soon as possible. The role can be done in either Canberra or Sydney and will work mostly Mon - Fri business hours (40-hour week). On occasion after-hours or weekend work may be required with prior negotiation, and will rotate on call work within the team.

Due to the highly sensitive nature of work to be done, candidates must be Australian citizens with active AGSVA Negative Vetting 2 (NV2) Security Clearance.
