Our Federal Government Client is looking for a Wintel Systems Engineer.

This is a long-term contract role for 12 months with a possible extension of up to 36 months, located at our client's Canberra office with hybrid working arrangements (3 days in office, 2 days remote). Onboarding and training may require full-time office presence.

As the Wintel Systems Engineer, you'll play a key role in developing and maintaining their on-premise infrastructure and applications. You'll be a strong advocate for security and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and maintenance of on-premise infrastructure and applications.
  • Create and maintain SOP documents for on-premise environments.
  • Tune monitoring and alerting services.
  • Support hybrid cloud adoption by delivering and integrating Microsoft solutions.
  • Provide technical guidance and expertise during new technology initiatives.
  • Support other team members in maintaining ACMA's ICT platform services.
  • Promote security-first solutions and best practices within the ICT environment.
  • Develop and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

You'll be a great fit if you have:

  • Extensive experience in developing and maintaining solutions using technologies like Skype for Business, Sonus SBCs, Polycom VC, Exchange, Commvault, Microsoft Azure & Office 365, Nutanix HCI, Hyper-V, Airlock, Kemp Loadmaster, Citrix, Fax Server, USB Anywhere, PowerShell, Lansweeper, PRTG, Tenable, Cybersecurity awareness, Windows Server, Active Directory, Windows 10, and Certificate Services.
  • A willingness to learn and develop core skills within the Microsoft Azure Cloud ecosystem.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to self-manage, be proactive, and demonstrate initiative.
  • Experience working with Agile projects.

A plus if you have:

  • Previous experience working in the Federal Government or as an embedded resource.
  • Australian Government Information Security Manual (AGISM) experience.
  • Other Microsoft Azure technologies experience.
  • Unified Communications (Microsoft Skype & Teams currently, transitioning to Cisco Webex).
  • Relevant industry certifications.

Due to security clearance requirements for this role, candidates must be Australian citizens with an existing Negative Vetting Level 1 security clearance.
