Our Public Utility Client is seeking an ITIL Environment & Release Manager.
This is a contract role for a duration of 15 months, located at our client's Mitchell, Canberre office.
As the selected candidate, you will:
- Own the release management process.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to create release plans and schedules that align with business needs and project timelines.
- Evaluate the impact of proposed changes and releases on existing systems and processes.
- Lead cross-functional release teams, including development, testing, and operations teams, to ensure smooth and coordinated release activities.
- Coordinate stakeholders to plan releases through environments, highlighting and escalating conflicts in a dynamic environment.
- Establish and enforce quality control processes that meet defined quality standards.
- Communicate release plans, progress, and changes to stakeholders, including IT teams and business units.
- Identify, assess, and manage risks associated with releases.
- Assist in the development of continuity and rollback plans to address unforeseen issues.
- Ensure the maintenance of accurate configuration records to track changes to software and infrastructure components.
- Assist in the streamlining of the release process, working with engineering teams to reduce release efforts and errors.
- Publish reports to the Leadership team as needed to highlight project dependencies and risks.
To be successful in this role you should have:
- Minimum 5+ years of demonstrable experience as an ICT Environment and Release Manager or a very similar role.
- Strong understanding of ICT systems and processes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Risk management skills.
- Experience using relevant tools to support environment and release management.
It is desirable if you have:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Professional certifications such as ITIL and Certified Release Manager (CRM).
