About the Role:

The Human Capital Management Solution (HCMS) Program, established to transform HR systems for a QLD Government department, is seeking an experienced Master Project Scheduler. This pivotal role will support Program and Project Managers in developing, managing, and monitoring the program's critical path and interdependencies. As the Master Project Scheduler, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining project schedules, identifying risks, and providing expert scheduling advice. You will play a key role in ensuring that the HCMS Program aligns with strategic objectives, remains on schedule, and adheres to governance practices.

You will work closely with technical experts, project managers, and the Program Manager, contributing to the successful implementation of a contemporary Human Capital Management Solution that meets current best practices and enables the Department to develop its workforce effectively.

Experience:

  • Proven experience in project scheduling, with extensive use of Microsoft Project Professional (2021), preferably with Microsoft Project Online and SharePoint.
  • Demonstrated expertise in developing and managing complex project schedules within large-scale, high-risk ICT and business change programs.
  • Strong background in identifying, managing, and reporting critical paths, interdependencies, and project progress within a structured project management environment.
  • Experience in providing scheduling advice, conducting what-if analysis, and developing contingency plans to keep projects on track.
  • Familiarity with PRINCE2 and MSP methodologies, with a proven ability to apply scheduling techniques that align strategic objectives with project goals.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Excellent consultation skills, with the ability to build and sustain effective relationships, negotiate solutions, and communicate clearly with a diverse group of stakeholders.
  • Analytical Skills: High-level capability in performing baseline tracking, conducting what-if analysis, and preparing comprehensive reports for stakeholders and executive management.
  • Adaptability and Initiative: Demonstrated ability to work independently, respond positively to change, and take personal responsibility for meeting objectives with attention to detail.
