Our Federal Government Client is seeking a Senior Technical Engineering Expert.

This is a long-term contract role with an initial contract duration for 12 months , with an extension term of 12 months and two extension, located at our client's ACT office (minimum of 3 days per week in the client office).

As the selected candidate, you will:

* Lead the design, administration, and maintenance of all end-to-end production and preproduction Centrelink mainframe environments.

* Lead the implementation, documentation, and automation of new and existing technologies/products/processes.

* Provide expert advice to technical specialists and stakeholders and seek their cooperation in the provision of database administration.

* Influence peers to build systems that are easy to operate and scale on demand. Develop and drive architectural change that benefits the agency by solving scalability and performance problems.

* Conduct code development and maintenance, incident and problem management (ITIL), and have experience with testing methodologies.

* Manage large mainframe environments and work with various mainframe products and utilities including TSO/ISPF/SFDF/REXX/JCL/MQ/IOA ControlM/D.

* Demonstrate experience with M204 User Language and file structures, as well as batch processing.

* Experience with SAP would be beneficial.

* Maintain relationship and stakeholder management.

* Exhibit effective communication skills.

To be successful in this role you should have:

* A minimum of 5 years' experience in the management of complex IT platforms.

* Experience with Model 204.

It is desirable if you have:

* Demonstrated ability to shape strategic direction with high-level relationship/stakeholder management and communication skills.

* Experience in system design in an IBM mainframe-centric environment.

* Demonstrated understanding of testing methodologies and the end-to-end system development life cycle.

Due to security clearance requirements for this role, candidates must be Australian citizens and be able to obtain Negative Vetting Level 1 security clearance.
