Our Federal Government Client is seeking a VMware Systems Engineer
This is a long-term contract role with an initial duration of 12 months and the potential for two 12-month extensions, located at our client's Canberra office with remote work flexibility.
As the selected candidate, you will:
* Input into a SION High-Level Design (HLD) to define the VMware-specific content.
* Produce a specific technology Detailed Design (DD) for VMware technology elements utilizing DEF100-1 document templates.
* Assist with updating user stories to validate the solution is working as per the design and user/support project needs.
* Assist with the implementation and configuration of capabilities based on endorsed specifications.
* Assist with integration into other system elements, including designs from other vendors.
* Assist with the configuration and execution of test cases.
* Assist with other product-relevant delivery and transition activities, including "As-Built" Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for VMware products.
To be successful in this role, you should have:
* Extensive experience with VMware Systems Engineering, including inputting into technical specifications and implementation activities.
* Strong understanding of High-Level Design (HLD) and Detailed Design (DD) documentation.
* Experience in implementing and configuring VMware capabilities, including integration with other system elements.
* Ability to work in a high-security environment with discretion and sensitivity.
It is desirable if you have:
* Experience with deployment strategy review and recommendations.
* Experience with advanced configuration (workflow, rules, reports) and performance management in a VMware environment.
* Strong mentoring and customer-specific training skills.
Due to security clearance requirements for this role, candidates must be Australian citizens with Negative Vetting Level 1 (NV1) clearance.
